A little help here? Adopted Human Meet Sultana. Or Snow White as my mom calls her. I named her Sultana as in Mother Sultana from the Turkish novelas my mom and grandma watch because she's pregnant. She answers to both names.

I've always wanted a cat. But I live with my mom and grandma who are known animal haters. My neighbors next door moved away and not only they were neighbors but they're also cat parents too because they left their cat.
  • 03
She's very clearly a house cat because she's very sweet and affectionate and begs for pets. She kinda just moved to our front porch when she noticed her humans were gone and left her. Me and my family have never had cats, but me and eventually mom felt bad for

her because we noticed she was pregnant. She wouldn't eat human food like chicken or tuna and we found out she only eats a very specific brand of cheap cat food from the dollar store. So that's what we've been feeding her.
  • 05
I would've love to keep her and take her to a vet, but as I mentioned before we live with grandma and it IS her house and she hates cats. This morning she threw a pot of ice cold water at her. The cats wasn't even inside the house! She knows she cannot go past our front porch!
  • 06
Anyways, we've been trying to get her to a shelter from all over the city but they either say they don't have space or don't take pregnant cats. We also tried with family and friends but no luck... What should we do?

    ONE MONTH LATER

Update: SULTANA THE CAT HAD HER KITTENS Adopted Human Now I need 5 sultan or sultana names for the kittens. Don't know their genders yet. Was told to wait at least a month. Kittens are very healthy tho!

But update on Mother Sultana: she won't eat unless I'm there?? Like, she lives in our porch and her food was right beside her because it attracts ants. She gave birth on Sunday midnight and slowly moved her kittens to live under the upstairs couch, much
  • 10
to grandma's chagrin. Her food is still on the porch because, again, ants. So she will spend all her time with her kittens under the couch, meows and meows until I open my door during lunchtime (I work from home) ask me to follow her downstairs. Once we're in

the porch she will stand in front of her food bowl and won't start eating until she sees me sit down on the porch stairs until she finishes. If I leave the whole process will start again. She literally won't eat even if her bowl is full. She also drinks lots and lots of water. I was told this is common cat behavior? Idk?

I will miss the cats. 2 males and 3 calico girlies. Especially Sultana and her demon son who has a heart on his back and insisted on almost jumping off the staircase rail into his imminent de d at least 3 times a day. Who also insisted on nibbling and attacking my toes in every chance he got...

    PRESENT DAY

Update: Sultana the mom cat is not just a "pretty cat" like we thought. Adopted Human She's a purebred Turkish Angora. She's just really young and malnourished. In 3 months she was with us we did notice her fur grew longer really
  • 16
quickly (sadly I don't have pics of her in that state) but when she gave birth and started breastfeeding she got thin again. We took Sultana and the kittens to the vet and after the tests and vaccines
  • 17
and everything was done we were informed she was a purebred cat. Which was surprising... we did notice she looks a bit fancier than a regular cat, but we thought she and the kittens were just pretty.
  • 18
We don't really know where she came from because before my ah le neighbors took her in she was just a stray that lived in the neighborhood? But they ran tests and sure enough she is

Sadly, as I have mentioned before, my grandma owns the house and lives with us and hates her guts. So the vet helped us find an adoption center where they took in mama cat and her kittens. We just dropped them off and now I have a hole in my heart the size of a fancy mama cat and her 5 fancy kittens.

Never saw myself as a cat parent but really wanted to keep her. She's really sweet and will make a great pet to anyone who adopts her. Even my mom who supposedly hates cat and is a dog person sobbed as we dropped them off.

One of the kittens has a heart on his back! N

RetroLuminance thats too bad. at least you got to see her have her babies & you played a major role in her little family.
  • 23
Dry-Attitude3926 Listen, sometimes we are just meant to help get the animals to where they belong. She and her babies will end up with wonderful homes, and sometime when you least expect it, the CDS will strike for you.

frolicndetour I'm sorry your grandma wouldn't let you keep any of them. You were a hero for mama and her wee babies though
